Citric Acid

Alfresh Beverages Ltd. v. Archer-Daniels Midland et. al.

A class action was commenced in which it was alleged that certain manufacturers of citric acid unlawfully conspired to fix prices and allocate markets for citric acid. A settlement was reached with all of the companies named in the lawsuit with a settlement value of approximately $8 million. The settlement has been approved by the courts in Ontario and Quebec. A settlement approval hearing is pending in Quebec.

The deadline to submit a claim was June 13, 2002
