On June 27, 2011, Siskinds LLP and Bates Barristers filed a class action in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice against BCE Inc., and others.
The class action is brought on behalf of all persons and entities who sold BCE shares or call options during the period of June 30, 2008 to and including July 4, 2008. The proceeding relates to the attempted acquisition of BCE in 2008 by a consortium of private equity funds. In June 2008, certain "un-named executives" made statements to the media in regard to the prospects for securing the financing necessary to complete the acquisition of BCE.
