It is alleged that, as a result of the alleged defects, homeowners and other property owners will eventually be required to remove and replace any Kitec plumbing products in their homes or other building structures at a substantial cost to the property owner and substantial damage to the property.

A settlement has been reached with the defendants which resolves the Canadian and U.S. actions. The settlement requires the defendants to pay US$125 million for the benefit of settlement class members in Canada and the United States.
