    IKO Roofing Shingles

This action relates to allegations that the defendants manufactured, marketed, and sold IKO roofing shingles in Canada that were not of merchantable quality or reasonably fit for their intended purpose, and that were prone to premature failure. IKO roofing shingles were installed on homes and buildings across Canada.
It is alleged that, as a result of the alleged defects, homeowners and other property owners will eventually be required to remove and replace any IKO roofing shingles installed on their homes or other building structures at a substantial cost to the property owner.
The Ontario court has approved amendments to the Statement of Claim that limit the parameters of the litigation to include only IKO asphalt organic roofing shingles. IKO asphalt organic roofing shingles were sold under various brand and product names including but not limited to Chateau, Renaissance XL, Aristocrat, Total, Armour Seal, Superplus, Armour Lock, Royal Victorian, Cathedral XL, Ultralock 25, Armour Plus 20, Armour Tite, Chateau Ultra Shadow (laminated organic), and Cathedral XL, Crowne 30. For further information regarding the amendments please refer to the Amended Statement of Claim and Notice of Amendment of Statement of Claim posted below.
