This class action concerns the alleged conspiracy among certain manufacturers to fix the price at which methionine was sold in Canada and worldwide from at least 1985 to 1998.
Methionine is an amino acid used primarily in animal feed and poultry feed in particular. It comes in two forms for animal feed: as a powder and as a liquid analog. It is chiefly used as a poultry feed additive.
Settlements have been reached with the defendants that resolve the litigation. The deadline to file a claim under the settlements was November 30, 2010. The administration of the settlements has concluded and all claims have been paid.
