Filters
This class action alleges that the Defendants unlawfully conspired to fix, increase, and/or maintain prices at which oil and fuel filters in the aftermarket (i.e., the market for replacement filters) ("Filters") were sold in North America.
The plaintiff alleges that from at least January 1, 1999 to April 1, 2008, the defendants and their senior executives participated in illegal and secretive meetings and made agreements relating to price targets, specific price increases, market share divisions and production capacity for Filters.
Oil and fuel filters are used in nearly every motor vehicle sold in North America and are essential for the performance of motor vehicles. Oil and fuel filters are typically detachable units that require regular replacement.
